In case you were somewhere warmer and didn’t hear, there was quite the several days’ wind-driven snowstorm that felt like a blizzard over Thanksgiving. It produced widespread multiple-day power outages across a broad area. At our house, power went out overnight on Tuesday and didn’t come back on until around 7pm Friday. It made a generator seem like a potential Christmas list item. Fleets of energy crews and equipment converged on PI, but falling branches and whole trees weighted down by the heavy, wet snow and high winds kept taking out the power lines. So thankful for the folks who do this incredibly difficult and dangerous work! The upside was a gorgeous snow-covered winter wonderland, and the hope that it would be the start of a winter to please all the snow sport lovers. Since then the weather has mixed rain, snow, sleet and ice–but the snow keeps coming, too!
